As Grant Administrator/Office Manager, Isaac is responsible for managing the RML budget and performing complex analysis of departmental federal subaward budgets, vendor agreements, timely payment of vendor invoices, tracking expenditures. He will manage day-to-day operations of the office in conjunction with the Executive Director and will work in partnership with the MUSC Library Business Manager on budget planning, costs allocations, In-Year forecasting, and other financial matters. Isaac brings over 18 years of extensive Basic science, Sponsor Invoicing, Clinical Trials grants management, and research administration experience gained during his time with the Office of Clinical Research MUSC, Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Isaac has a BS in Exercise Physiology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, an MBA from Point Park University, Pittsburgh, PA, and a Master of Public Management (MPM) from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. In addition, he is a Certified Research Administrator. Isaac is an active member at Central Baptist Church located in Downtown Charleston and a mentor with "Be A Mentor"; a Charleston-based nonprofit organization that offers school-based mentoring programs for elementary, middle, and high school youth. Isaac also serves on the Advisory Executive Board for "More Than Bread" in Grand-Goâve, Haiti.
