Materials owned by the MUSC Library

Journals

About 98% of the journals to which the Library subscribes are available online and accessible with your MUSC Net ID. Please use the links from the databases, when available, to access these articles. If no links are available from the database, check either the eJournals@MUSC_Library database or the MUSC Library Catalog to access your journal.

There are a few journals that are either print-only or accessible only while on campus. In either of these two cases, request the article either directly from the database (if using OVID) or from the MUSC Library document delivery/ILL form (see directions below). After receiving the document delivery request, the Library will provide requested articles, which have been scanned in and are available for you to download. You will receive an e-mail with a link and a password to access your articles. These articles are available for a limited amount of time and/or a limited amount of downloads per article.

Books

Chapters of books owned by the MUSC Library will be copied and sent electronically.

Materials not owned by the MUSC Library

Journals

Articles in journals not owned by the MUSC Library may be requested, and will be sent electronically.

Books

Many important texts are available online from the MUSC Library. We regret that we cannot provide books via Interlibrary Loan.

How to submit your requests

Note: Please check both the eJournal list and the online catalog before ordering.

• From the main page of the MUSC Library, click on the Document Delivery link.
• Choose either the book or the article request as a student request.
• Use your MUSC e-mail address when making requests.
• In the comment box, indicate that you are a MUSC distance education student.

From an OVID database (CINAHL, MEDLINE, PsycINFO)
Note: Please check the "Library Holdings" link before ordering.

• Select articles from your search set by checking the boxes by the citations.
• Go to the "Results Manager" which is located at the bottom of each page.
• In the first column, check "Selected;" in the last column, check "Order."
• In the comment box, indicate that you are a MUSC distance education student.
