Lockers
Who can use a locker?
MUSC students.
When can I check one out?
Lockers are available to students on or near the first day of classes
each semester.
Lockers are available on a first-come first-served basis; one locker per person.
How do I check out a locker?
Lockers are checked out at the second floor service desk. The student
provides their own lock.
How long can I keep the locker?
Lockers are available for students until the end of each semester.
What happens at the end of the check out period?
Please remove everything from your locker. An email will be sent to your MUSC email address before, during and after Finals Exams about your locker. Locks will be cut and personal items left in the locker after May 13th will be removed and kept in the library for one week. After one week, they are sent to Public Safety.
Are there any rules about what I can put in my locker?
Library materials must be checked out before placing materials in lockers.
Please do not store food or beverages, weapons, hazardous materials, or
illegal substances in the lockers.
Lockers are subject to inspection by authorized library staff at any time.
If I am lucky enough to get a carrel, can I keep my locker?
As carrels are usually made available one week after classes begin, we encourage all students who study in the library on a regular basis to get a locker. If you are lucky enough to get a locker and there is a waiting list for lockers, you will need to decide whether you want a carrel or a locker. If there is no waitng list for lockers you can keep both.
Please come by the 2nd floor service desk or call us at 792-2381 if you have any questions.
